Celebrate National Margarita Day at Borracha!
Borracha Leads the Marg Charge This February 22nd
The only thing that you need to be salty about on Wednesday is the rim of your glass! February 22nd is a day we pay homage to the ultimate good times goddess, the margarita. Nothing takes a lame event or a dull moment and turns it hour upon hour of fun like the sour and limey tequila tincture. Some people even claim that margaritas–the most common tequila-based drink in the United States–make their clothes come off. So come one, come all to have a ball this National Margarita Day at Borracha!
Absolute Classic
It’s not surprising that the collective memory of when the margarita was invented is a little fuzzy; that tends to be the case when margaritas are involved. There’s debate over who specifically crafted the concoction, with one story that a bartender named Danny in Tehuacán made the original for his girlfriend, Margarita, because she liked salt in her drinks. Another contends that a young marketing executive asked a bartender to craft up something with a newfangled product called “Jose Cuervo.” Despite those margarita myths and more, there are a few commonalities people agree on: margaritas came about in the 1930s or 40s, and the classic recipe is tequila, triple sec, and lime over ice. Oh–and that they are absolutely delicious.
Cups Runneth Over
Margaritas are so great that even the facts about them are fun. For example, the word margarita is the Spanish word for daisy, the official margarita glass is called a coupette, and Borracha Mexican Cantina has the best margaritas in Henderson, Nevada. This National Margarita Day at Borracha, they’ll be even more amazing because you can customize them to your heart’s content with the Build Your Dream Patron Margarita Bar!
